Brock Lesnar as UFC Heavyweight Champion
In the late 2000’s and earlier 2010’s, Brock Lesnar was one of the highest-drawing fighters in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Not only was he financially successful, as he made a whole lot of cash for himself and for the organization, but he was also successful inside the octagon. At UFC 91, Brock Lesnar knocked out Randy Couture to win the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Furthermore, he successfully defended the championship two times after that night. Even though Brock Lesnar was a dominant force in the octagon, the main reason for his ability to draw money was the fact that he had previously been employed with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
Shortly after winning the NCAA Division I Heavyweight Championship and proving that he was the best wrestler in the collegiate realm, Brock Lesnar became a wrestler for the WWE. His elite grappling skills made it extremely easy for him to learn the scripted and predetermined fighting of professional wrestling. After spending two years in the WWE and winning the WWE Championship three times in the process, Brock Lesnar decided to leave the company, eventually becoming a successful UFC fighter.
In 2012, Brock Lesnar took a break from the physically grueling sport that is mixed martial arts and returned to WWE, partaking in main event matches and drawing more and more money for himself and the WWE. It was recently revealed that Brock Lesnar was the highest-earning performer of 2016 in the WWE, earning himself $12 million, while the runner-up of this distinction, John Cena, made only $8 million.
